[ thankfully, a tree close to the pond seems perfect to suffice. quickly, Stannis draws lightbringer, and its glow illuminates the area around them. still, despite its uncanny appearance of a flaming sword, when it strikes the branch, it cuts more like a normal sword than anything else. after a few undignified whacks, the branch falls to the bottom. ]

Diana does take note of his impressive sword, and perhaps might have asked if it had some sort of magical quality in a better moment. as it is they should probably focus on their work. she crouches to grab the stick, clearly pleased to have step one of their plan. )
